What is Surrender?

Surrender in itself has many layers. There is a surrender that happens during dire circumstances when the ego realizes that there is nothing else it can do to change a situation, and it lets go. This letting go may lead to experiencing frustration, a sense of defeat, and a subtle awareness about how little we control. These are learning experiences.

There is a surrender that is a constant happening. It’s a state that involves an ever-present amazement of whatever arises in creation and detachment from the outcome. Arriving in an internal space where this happens naturally requires awareness and patience. This is a pivotal journey in the spiritual path or the human experience. This wisdom arises from experience and is held in the sacred space of the true heart.

Are prayers heard?

Praying is an essential inner movement for human beings. In moments of fear and stress, or when we feel all our actions cannot control the outcome, we move to prayer. Prayer is a way of asking for help or assistance from Higher Consciousness, and in those moments, it comes very naturally. Then, a relationship happens between our prayers, inner state, and communication with this Higher Intelligence. There is no possibility that prayers are not heard, yet not all of them will be answered the way the mind expects. All prayers are listened to, yet the resolution to our circumstances happens in ways the logical mind can’t understand. Higher Consciousness is always in a deep connection with you and always gives you the right experiences and solutions. How can we know this? Because they are happening, everything always has a higher purpose that encompasses us and every other human being on this planet. The more we realize this, the more we recognize every instance of this creation is a profound and magnificent miracle.

Will I ever stop feeling alone?

Loneliness arises when we are trapped in separation. We experience life from the mind’s perspective, enhancing the belief that I am separate from everything outside of the limits of my skin. The more we embody this belief, the more disconnected from the oneness of life our experience becomes. Living life like this becomes “normal” for the body, and moving away from it may cause discomfort and fear.

Shedding this perception is possible, it requires courage and self-compassion. If we see this as just a conditioning, a belief (as absolute as it may seem) but not the truth, the journey of healing starts. Deep breathing, moving your body, and a deeper connection with nature: may it be grounding, forest walks, being at the ocean, etc.) allow the body to remember a natural way of being: calmed, relaxed, and belonging. And if you feel called to and start your healing journey, slowly, this feeling of being separate starts to dissolve more and more, and you reconnect with your real essence: being part of it all.
